Nepal has many rivers gushing down to the plain land. We have numerous lakes, resourced by the Himalayan water.  There are 118 varieties of fresh water fish Mahseer to the trout. The best season for fishing in Nepal is after or before the monsoon.

River Karnali, Babai Valley are famous for fishing trips. There are number of angling spots in the confluence of Seti, Trishuli and Kali Gandaki Rivers. Phewa Lake in Pokhara can be another good spot to catch the carps. Himkala Adventure can arrange the fishing trips to streams around the valley. Dolalghat, east of Kathmandu, on the Kodari Highway, is another catchy place for the local varieties of fish. The rivers in Terai are another destination for the anglers. Asking local fishermen and boatmen for information on good fishing spots and varieties can be rewarding. The Tharus in the terai are active fishing and hunting community.
