Ghorepani Poon hill trek lies in the western part of Nepal. The trek begins from Pokhara, the city of Lakes and the hub of adventures. Ghorepani Poohnill is the best vantage point for the sun rise and very close Mountain View. The hike about an hour reaches to the top of Poonhill and the breathtaking view from the top towards Kaligandaki Valley is remarkable.

The title Poonhill Trek Mania is suitably named because this is the most liked trek among all the treks in Nepal. This is short trekking can be done by any aged group people: family, couple, children, old aged etc. This is the best selling trekking in tourism market in Nepal. People like it because you could do it within short span of time. One can get the wholeness of nature and cultural elegance even in the low budget and customized trek. So, the enthusiasm or the willingness to be this trail is more than 60% of visitors still on record.

The trek starts from Kathmandu with 6-7 hours drive in Prithivi Highway passing through many hills, following rivers, bridges and lovely village houses. We again drive after one night overnight stay at Pokhara to Nayapul, then we trek to Tikhedhunga, crossing Modi Khola. The trek climbs up to Ghorepani via many villages and especially some important points like Ulleri. Poonhill trek can be extended upon your request to Natural Hot Spring Site (Tatopani) or through other trails. The trail is well made with stone steps and the lodges are finely maintained with internet, WiFi. We can organize camping trek on your request.

Detail Itinerary

Day 01Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350 m),transfer to hotel. Overnight at hotelOur representative from Himkala Adventure will receive you from the outer gate of Kathmandu airport terminal where our vehicle is ready to pick you up and drops you in the hotel at Thamel. You could explore the local market after you get refreshed. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu

Day 02Pre-trip meeting and Heritage Sites tour. O/N at hotel After breakfast, we will brief you about today's day tour in UNESCO World Heritage sites tour in Kathmandu.We begin the day tour at 9 am. We first drive to Swoyambhunath Temple, the stupa, the power point of tantra, the place influenced by Bajrayana followers, and lovingly called it "The Monkey Temple". It takes 20 minutes to there. It is a conical shaped hill where there five important places dedicated to five elements from the Nature. After this, we head towards Kathmandu Durbar Square where we can see many Hindu temples particularly the Kumari House where we can see the living goddess - Kumari, courtyards, palaces and so on. Boudha Stupa is 8 km far from here. We visit the stupa built in 5th century A.D. We walk around the stupa and visit the nearby monasteries, then proceed to Pashupati Temple after having lunch in rooftop restaurant somewhere in Boudha. Pashupati is the last site for today which is just 2 and half km from Boudha. This is the temple dedicated to famous Hindu God Shiva where we can see the holy river called Bagmati, ritual bathers, Hindu priests, cremation Ghats and so on. After the tour, we return back to hotel. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu

Day 03Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (827 m), 6-7 hrs. O/N at hotel Pokhara is 200 km west from Kathmandu. We drive early morning after breakfast to Pokhara passing by many streams, Trishuli and Marshyangdi Rivers, terraced fields and nice villages. This is 6-7 hours bus drive. Overnight at hotel in Pokhara

Day 04Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul (1060 m), 1 hr, trek to Tikhedhunga (1540 m), 4hrs. O/N at Lodge After breakfast, we drive from our hotel to Baglung Buspark from where we get the other bus to Nayapul. It takes about 2 and half hours to Nayapul. After get off at Nayapul, we turn to right of our side, cross the suspension bridge and follow the dirt road to Tikhedhunga. There is a TIMS Card and ACAP Permit check post at Birethanti. We cross the bridge of Modi Khola and keep on going to the road. We can have a lunch on the way before the end of the road. The road ascends right up to the village but we turn to the left, which is Tikhedhunga, our today's destination for our overnight stay. Overnight at lodge in Tikhedhunga

Day 05Trek from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2860 m), 5-6 hrs. O/N at Lodge The trail from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani is completely uphill, ascending through Ulleri, Banthanti, passing beautiful forests to Nangethanti, Then we reach to the lower part of Ghorepani where there is a gate and police check post. Overnight stay at lodge in Ghorepani

Day 06Early morning hike to Poonhill (3210 m), then trek down to Tadapani (2630 m), 4 hrs. O/n at Lodge This is exciting morning when we wake up at 4:30, get ready at 5 am and start hiking uphill to Poonhill. This is an hour walk through the forest. We reach to the top of Poonhill, the vantage point of Ghorepani Trek from where we can see the Annapurna ranges clearly. This is the best place for sun rise. We descend to hotel after the sunrise, get our breakfast and begin to walk to Tadapani. This is about 4 hours walk over the rige and dropping down to the stream and a bit uphill walk to Tadapani. The view of Annapurna South and Fishtail from Tadapani is amazing. Overnight at lodge in Tadapani

Day 07Trek from Tadapani to Ghandruk (1940 m), 3-4 hrs. O/N at Lodge After breakfast, we begin to walk through the forest. After an hour walk, we arrive at Bhaise, we start to descend from there, keep on descending, then finally reach to Ghandruk, the beautiful Gurung settlement. Overnight at lodge in Ghandruk

Day 08Trek from Ghandruk to Nayapul (1025 m), 3-4 hrs, drive back to Pokhara. O/N at hotel Today, we walk just an hour from Ghandruk to the place named Kimche, then we get a bus. The bus drive from Kimche to Pokhara takes about 3 and half hours. We reach to hotel in Pokhara. Overnight at hotel in Pokhara

Day 09Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu, 200 km, 6-7 hrs. O/N at hotel After breakfast, we drive back to Kathmandu through the same Prithivi highway and check into the hotel in Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu
