Balthali resides 40 km east from Kathmandu, standing on a plateau, just beyond Panauti. There is a small settlement of Balthali Village which rests on a junction of Roshi and Ladku Khola rivers. This placed on the top hill can be a dreamland for the peace lovers. The view from the top of adjacent hills, Nepali countryside with terraced farmlands, and ochre thatched farm houses make anyone feel you are in the paradise. One can see the snowy peaks of Dorje Lhakpa, Langtang on the northern side.

The area is surrounded by the dense forest of rhododendron, magnolia, and tick trees. After dusk, myriad of flickering lights below the valley of Balthali Village Resort gives exotic feelings. Nature lovers and bird watchers can spend days exploring and discovering some exceptional species of wildlife, tradition and culture untouched by modernity. Detail Itinerary

Day 01Drive from Kathmandu to Panauti, Hike to Balthali via Khopasi. Walk around the place, retrace back to Panauti and drive back to KathmanduWe drive from Kathmandu to Panauti, 32 km east which takes about one and half an hour by car. This is the famous Newari town with exquisitely carved wooden work, arts and architecture. We walk passing Khopashi village and reach to a small bridge then hike up to little village. It is an hour walk up to the little plateau like hill from where the valley, gorges, adjacent hills, terraces and orange garden can be seen. In a clear day, the mountain view lures anyone. It is quiet place which is very refreshing, recreational to anyone like nature lover, litterateur, poet, meditator, honeymooners, family members and any one. Exploring this place about an hour, we retrace back to Panauti and drive back to Kathmandu.
