“WOW! Unforgettable Experience!!!”

“WOW! Unforgettable Experience!!!”

I am a travel agent from Michigan, and took my group of 12 adults to India and Nepal for 12 days. In Kathmandu, we hired the services of Himkala Adventures. From the start, I knew everything was going to be smooth. I sent an email to Shiva, the owner, and got a response back immediately! He agreed to arrange a walking tour of Kathmandu along with a full day guided tour of Patan and Bhaktapur. Shiva met us at the airport with a kind smile and helped us with our luggage. His English was absolutely fantastic and we could tell he was very passionate about Nepal. He took us to our hotel to check in and was very patient with us as we took our time. His walking tour was VERY informative! We all learned so much and Shiva had an answer to all of our questions. On the following day, our bus tour was equally as good-- with lots of great sites included and absolutely impeccable leadership from Shiva. I just cannot speak highly enough of him. I have traveled to 63 countries and have had so many guides, but Shiva is one of a kind. You can tell he is not in the business for the money, but he really cares about spreading education about Nepal. I cannot wait to book another tour with him next year. Thanks so much, Shiva!!

“If you're in Kathmandu-- do a walking tour (or day hike!)”

“If you're in Kathmandu-- do a walking tour (or day hike!)”

Shivas personal walking tour was a highlight of our trip to Kathmandu. We walked around Thamel and the Monkey Temple -- and he provided an insiders guide to the history and background of temples and city sites.

We enjoyed the tour so much, that we booked his time for a hike in the hills. He took us on a 8-9 mile hike through villages and peoples backyards. It was our favorite day will in Kathmandu. Shiva is an experienced guide (having hiked Everest base camp several times) and it shows in his professionalism, fluency in English, and knowledge of the beautiful historic sites of Nepal. I would highly recommend the walking tour and him as a guide!

“A great company and fabulous tour!!!!”

“A great company and fabulous tour!!!!”

I did a walking tour in Kathmandu with Shiva and it was wonderful! We spent nearly 4 hours walking around the city. Shiva is full of information about Nepal. Any question that I had (and I had many of them) he was happy to answer. I was lucky enough to do the walking tour on my first day in Nepal. That way I had a basis for knowledge on Nepal and what I should do with the rest of my week. Shiva is a fantastic tour guide. He was upbeat and positive the entire trip. He did not rush any part of the tour and was not worried with how much time we were spending. He was able to give me not only information on the sites we were visiting, but information on the culture and the great people of Nepal. I could tell he really enjoys his job and he is happy to show guests around Nepal. He has years of experience and it shows. He was friendly, professional and positive the entire tour. I highly recommend the tours with Shiva and Himkala Adventure! You will be in good hands with a tour guide who really cares about you and you enjoying your time. Thank you, Shiva!

“Excellent, Informative and Fun Walking Tour!!”

“Excellent, Informative and Fun Walking Tour!!”

My friend and I decided to do the free walking tour in Kathmandu with Shiva after finding the info online. We only had one full day to explore Kathmandu and wanted to visit and learn about as many places as possible.
We met up at 11am and were happy to find him there waiting for us a few minutes early. After a few introductions and planning out the day we headed out. What we liked right away is that he gave us the option on how long we wanted to make the tour and options on whether to walk back or take a bus after the last stop on the tour, very flexible. We were a group of 3 so we decided to do the full 3-4 hour tour.
We stopped at various temples in which he would explain the significance, what type of local people would visit the specific temples, etc. We were able to walk through the local markets and back streets to really experience the people of Nepal, their culture and way of life. After about 2 hours we were all hungry so we stopped at a local little restaurant to grab a bite to eat, relax and ask some questions. Our last stop on the tour was "Monkey a temple," here once again he gave us the option on how we wanted to reach the top (steep 365 steps or go gradually up a different route.)
Shiva is very knowledable, fun, friendly and loves when questions are asked. Great, great tour in which we were able to learn a great deal of information in a short amount of time.

“Amazing tour!!”

“Amazing tour!!”

"Lord Shiva" as I nickednamed him. Provided us with amazing Nepali hospitality and knowledge. This is the best free tour I have ever taken. Mr. Shiva, was very punctual, met at Garden of Dreams as posted. Walked and stopped at important sights. We wanted to try the local food Mo mos and he stopped with us and got to experience Nepali cuisine and seating. We concluded our tour at Monkey temple 365 steps to the top. Total hours spent with us was about 4 1/2 hours. I think is so important when you come to a another country to experience it with locals and thats exactly what Mr. Shiva did. He provided us with the tools we needed to embark on our trip. Not only does he does Free tours. He also organizes trekking adventures. Highly recommend Mr. Shiva. Thank you again. - Cynthia
