Butterflies have the magnetic power like to attract human beings because of its unusual colors, the way it flies and sucks the nectar from the flowers. The more the flowers are thought pure and mild, that much the butterflies are thought tender and impressive because of its activities. Nepal is the heaven for the butterflies. We have different ecological variations and the vegetation, in the same way the butterflies are found in Nepal.
Butterflies have been studied in Nepal for over 150 years. The British has done the original study and the collection in Nepal. Japanese involved collecting through scientific expeditions after 1950; this benefitted a lot and established Natural History Museum in 1974 at Swoyambhu.
The record books state that Nepal has 11 out of 15 families of butterflies in the world, or over 500 species. There are new species being added one after another. We find Oriental species, very common and the Palaearctic species above 3,000 m. The best seasons for butterfly watching are late March/April, mid May/mid June, Late August/September. The best places for butterfly watching in Kathmandu valley are: Chovar, Swayambhu, Godavari, Nagarjuna, Budhanilkantha, Sundarijal and the forested hilltops of Phulchowki,Jamacho, Shivapuri,Nagarkot, Suryabinayak and Chandragiri.

Day 02:Sightseeing of World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu Valley. O/N at hotel
Day 03:Butterflies watching in Shivapuri National Park. Overnight stay at hotel
Day 04:Drive to Sundarijal. Trek from Sundarijal to Chisapani. Overnight at hotel
Day 05:Trek from Chisapani to Nagarkot. Overnight stay at hotel
Day 06:Drive from Nagarkot to Telkot & hike to Changunarayan, drive back to Kathmandu. O/N at hotel
Day 07:Transfer to the International Airport.
