Trip to the heart of Nepal

I had the opportunity to go with Shiva to his village, I asked him if it would it be possible to spend some time in his village. Shiva agreed with that and we left on Saturday, we spend 4 days at Hukkaban, which is 18 kilometers away from Gorkha. It is about 10 hour’s journey from Kathmandu, in the heart of the mountains in the central Nepalese landscape.

The views from every single point of the village are amazing; I got to experience the best of the Nepalese culture. The people and the village conditions are very humble, but hardly have you ever found people as beautiful and kind as they are in the city or somewhere else. Shiva’s family host of during the 4 days we were there, they provided us with everything we need and were always smiling to me.

The village is in need right now; there are places as the school that is still damaged because of the earthquake. Is a forgotten village as many in Nepal, the government do little or nothing to provide its inhabitants but they manage to get through the day-to-day life with a smile in their faces. It was a great experience and one that I will never forget, one that will always be in my heart.

Thank you!!!

After a month in Nepal, Ill only keep amazing memories about this country, and Shiva, with Himkala adventure wont be for nothing in that.

More than a guide, I now know that I have a friend in Nepal who can help me to organize my next trip there.

Either to guide us in Kathmandu or to hike in Kathmandu valley, Shiva has always enjoyed helping us.
I do recommend a guide for city tour in order to get explanations from a local about culture and religion far from what we are used to in Europe. Otherwise you will miss some important informations.

A last point to convince you : The benefits done by himkala are used in order to develop an orphanage which opened after 2015 eartquake.

Shiva Dhakal, the owner of Himkala adventure, who is himself a guide, had managed my trekking to Gokyo and some day tours in Kathmandu during my trip in Nepal,. Ill surely contact him next time.Since I visited Nepal,he has been my intimate friend. Thanks Shiva

Once is not enough!

I have traveled to Nepal several times, and, each time, Himkala Adventure was by my side! Shiva is amazingly knowledgeable about his home country. I dont believe there was ever a question that I asked for which he didnt have the answer! I traveled both alone and with friends, and every trip was better than the last !
